Aaron blinked, thoughts quickly moving away from the ineviatable. “Oh. I Haven’t seen Emma in a long time. I miss her. How has she been? You’re right I should invite her over soon…”

Edward was glad to have the subject off him, and just quietly picked at his cake. He turned to Jon. “How have you been, Jonathan? You and Eddie are playing a wedding, right?”

*nods* We are. June ninth.

And indeed, Loki’s attention — at least outwardly — is entirely and pointedly removed from Edward. They could speak later — and speak they would. But Aaron was right; now was not the time.

“She has been well… well enough. When I return to her tonight I will tell her that it was your birthday, and ask if she will pay you a visit within the next few days. I think she would be quite amenable to it.”
